DESIGNER / ARCHITECT
Wadsworth Design Build is hiring an experienced Designer / Architect to work in our Design Studio in Jamaica, Vermont.
Overview:
Wadsworth Design|Build is a full-service design to turn-key custom home builder in beautiful Southern Vermont. Specializing in high-end single family residential construction, we strive to provide outstanding service to our clients, tailoring our services to their lifestyle and dreams. We build both traditional timber frames as well as conventional light frame homes, according to each client’s needs and preferences. We are currently seeking a full-time architect or architectural designer to join our team. Professional experience is a plus, but not required. An ideal candidate lives in or is willing to relocate to southern Vermont, and should be self-motivated, reliable, curious, and eager to learn and grow professionally. You will be involved with every aspect of our projects, working closely with the principals throughout the design process.

Qualifications:
A professional degree in architecture, landscape architecture interior design or a related field from an accredited institution
A strong working knowledge of SketchUp and the Adobe Suite is required; proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus
Visual awareness and an eye for detail
Strong architectural portfolio
Working knowledge of construction materials, finishes and details
Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
Confidence and willingness to learn new skills and software, sometimes independently
Motivated self-starter, interested in growing your role within our existing framework
Responsibilities:
Developing, modeling, and rendering design concepts according to each client’s programmatic needs and aesthetic preferences
Production of schematic design, design development, detail and construction drawings
Preparing design presentations (including mood boards, 2D and 3D drawings, architectural renderings)
Assisting with design process - sourcing, implementation, and installation
Researching, presenting, and specifying furniture, fixtures & equipment
Participation in construction observation and administration
Performing field visits/measurements, site visits, coordinating with consultants, manufacturers, and subcontractors
We encourage a collaborative studio environment; the majority of the week must be in-office, but some remote work is possible.
Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience and education. 401k and vacation/sick time is standard.

ROOFER

PROJECT MANAGERS
Wadsworth Design Build is hiring experienced Project Managers in various locations
Overview:
Project Manager (PM) works with our clients during the construction phase of our design build and renovations projects. Our PMs coordinate with the client, in-house design team, and subcontractors throughout the project. The PM will have a knowledge base that allows them to make decisions about the constructability of a design - including details related to site work, excavation, concrete, carpentry, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, finishes, etc. Reports directly to the owner of the company, the General Manager and Operations Manager.
Required skills:
Experience as either a lead carpenter on high-end residential projects or as a professional project manager in a relevant industry
Expert at interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Competency in construction budget oversight
Subcontracting knowledge (preferably with residential construction trades)
Cost estimating knowledge (labor, materials, construction assemblies)
Experience working with architects, designers, and engineers
Ability to confidently lead a team of carpenters
Established computer competency to include e-mail, scheduling/calendars, remote meeting applications (Teams)
